Salt & Meadow is a dining experience that unites and balances the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay estuary with the farms of Virginia’s Northern Neck. The waterways enjoy an abundance of seafood, and a vast array of herbs, vegetables and fruit thrive year-round in the region’s rich soil. Salt & Meadow is about delicious ingredients, careful attention to service, a connection to nature, and respect for our waterfront setting, all with an eye towards a new era of dining. 

Job responsibilities:  

1.     Work at a newly remodeled restaurant, Salt & Meadow, with local fresh ingredients.

2.     Help create menu item ideas.

3.     Learn new techniques to elevate your culinary path.

4.     Organize and prep menu items with professionalism.

5.     Assist with banquet event orders.

6.     Communicate with sous chefs and cooks when extra help is needed.

7.     Report to work on time in proper uniform.

8.     Maintain good personal hygiene and practice food safety handling as required by the Virginia Health Department.

9.     Assist with cleaning projects as requested by the fellow team members.

10.   Responsible for station Mise en Place and communication amongst cooks to facilitate smooth services.

11.   Understand and maintain the standards, values and goals of the Tides Inn.

12.   Maintain respect for your team members of the Tides Inn.

13.   Complete extra tasks requested from your Chefs.
