Staff Accountant - Accounts Receivable

Basic Function: Perform daily accounting functions related to the accounting office and hotel operations. Assists in many areas to complete and improve the financial process. The roll includes varied accounting functions such as income audit, daily cash, entry level reconciliations and other tasks related to accounting and accounting reporting. Position reports to the Accounting Manager

Work Performed: 

1. Audit BEO’s to system tickets daily and file
2. Audit all postings to A/R daily and file
3. Maintain proper documentation and organized files
4. Collect deposits as necessary
5. Process applications for direct bill
6. Bill groups timely and accurately
7. Work in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
8. Compute accurate mathematical calculations
9. Work closely with other departments to ensure proper recording of information
10. Do A/R and other related calculations
11. Perform collections on accounts
12. Advise on concerns, issues, and ways of improving processes
13. Assist with guest billing questions and corrections
14. Troubleshooting common accounting problems
15. Provides accounting support to multiple team members
16. Create and maintain reports with speed and accuracy
17. Handle confidential and sensitive financial information
18. Other duties as assigned

Supervision Received:  Accounting Manager & Assistant Director of Finance 

Minimum Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred or equivalent work experience. Previous hospitality experience is highly desired.   Appropriate combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness.  Must have strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and be accurate with an eye for detail.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and works well with others.  Able to follow direction and work with minimal supervision.
