Management Training Program (M.I.T.)

The philosophy of the Operational Training program is to provide an opportunity for a recent graduate, OR current student, of a four-year hotel program to gain hands-on experience in the resort and hotel industry. The trainee will be assigned to a primary position and then will rotate throughout the resort to educate and allow exposure to the various departments within the resort throughout each month.  Each trainee will be assigned a Mentor in an Executive Committee Level role to ensure that the training is being done on a consistent basis.  Monthly goals will be set and need to be met by the trainee. Follow up and feedback will be provided by each department manager.  The trainee will focus on a core program of Food & Beverage and learn the details of those areas while working directly under a Department Manager.

The trainee will also have to absorb general knowledge regarding the resort which includes the number of rooms at the property, the acreage at the resort, the various types of building construction, interior design styles, and other information a qualified manager should know. Having an awareness of industry publications and major influences in the hotel industry will also be stressed.

Enchantment Resort and Mii amo Spa would like to develop promising and talented graduates and/or students into effective managers, meeting the needs of the trainee and our properties. The trainee should understand that a management position would not be handed to them. Through hard work at the entry level and by showing enthusiasm and long-term management ability, it is expected that the trainee will develop into an effective manager at Enchantment Resort and Mii amo Spa and then an effective leader in the hotel industry.  If a management position is available at the completion of the program, and we feel it would be a good fit, there is a hope that we would be able to offer a full-time management role to this candidate.  Again, this cannot be guaranteed.

The program will encompass 12 months in length.

The Executive Committee Member assigned as the mentor will monitor progress of the trainee monthly.  The Department Manager will give daily feedback to the Trainee.
