Job Description

 

Basic Function: 

Ensure laundry procedures are followed and finished linens and terry are to set standard.

 

Work Performed:

  1. Sort linens and terry by category.
  2. Identify stains and use spot removal application as necessary.
  3. Maintain correct chemical configuration to maximize results.
  4. Place in washer and select proper setting.
  5. Place in dryers and select proper setting.
  6. Put appropriate linens through ironer.
  7. Fold, separate and place in designated delivery area.
  8. Report all maintenance problems to housekeeping clerk, supervisor or manager.
  9. Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED, and/or equivalent work experience.  Attention to detail and able to multi-task many priorities.  Self motivated, ability to work with little supervision and organized.  Must be dependable.  Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.  

Ability to communicate in and read English.  

 

Physical Requirements:

40% walking and standing 

40% bending

10% reaching

10% lifting

Lifting/Carrying up to 50 lbs.

Hearing, Sight and Manual dexterity

Use of cleaning solutions
