Job Summary:                              

The Human Resources Manager oversees benefit administration, employee relations, communications to team members, compliance related items such as workers compensation, EEOC, unemployment claims, etc.

What you will be doing:

 Serves as a resource and expert in all things benefits as well as all things employee relations. 

  • Acts as a neutral party in team member counseling, problem solving, and conflict resolutions. 
  • Conduct team member investigations and disciplinary actions as needed.  
  • Ensure that all information is kept confidential.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify, analyze and initiate appropriate actions to resolve unsatisfactory turnover.
  • Ensures all I-9’s are fully complete and E-verify has been complete for all new hires in the HRIS. 
  • Prepares and maintains team members personnel files to maintain compliance.
  • Respond to/attend any related hearings for claims against the resort including EEOC, workers' compensation, unemployment claims, wage and hour, etc.
  • Assists with sending new hires information on benefits, new hire forms as needed.
  • Plans, assists, and actively participates in team member events and planning committee initiatives. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the HR Director. 
  • Assists others as needed and special projects, as necessary.
  • Stays abreast on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in Human Resources.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written in English.

  • Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle team member complaints and disputes while resolving them even if the situation did not begin with them.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.  Must be respectful and maintain a calm demeanor.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members.
  • Must be able to work with a myriad of personalities and levels within the hotel and outside sources.
