Job Description

As a key member of the Executive Committee, the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) will be creative, energetic and a knowledgeable professional who will be fundamental to the on-going success of the resorts.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Enchantment Resort, the (DOSM) has overall responsibility for: leading the sales efforts of Enchantment Resort and Mii amo to achieve or exceed all hotel revenue goals; and to collaborate with the Enchantment Group Home Office marketing team to ensure programs in all marketing disciplines are maximized and effective.

Education, Experience, Skills

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 10 years’ experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
  • Previous experience as Director of Sales & Marketing for a destination luxury hotel/resort at the 4 to 5 star level
  • Results oriented with a proven track record in driving RevPAR  
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Time management / organizational skills
  • Strong understanding of booking pace, rate yielding, managing mix of business
  • Computer Skills including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Delphi, Springer Miller, Sitecore
  • Multi-property and HOA experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days

Summary of Core Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for all functions of Group and Leisure sales for Enchantment Resort and Mii amo, including managing each property's reactive and proactive sales efforts and providing day to day leadership to sales and event managers to achieve all hotel sales objectives and deliver all annual property goals and revenues.

  • Develops annual sales plan / budget for Enchantment Resort and Mii amo, including Group and Leisure sales goals and strategies to ensure delivery of annual financial performance goals
  • Monitors sales team activities and holds team members accountable to expectations, including outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, written communication, site inspections, outside calls and account maintenance
  • Monitors performance of sales team by appraising, coaching and counseling, including training as needed
  • Ensures responsible Group contracts and agreements while managing risk to the properties within these agreements, including proper turn-over to Conference Services
  • Execute the sales strategy for Guest Rooms, Food & Beverage and Events to ensure individual goals are met or exceeded
  • Coach leaders of revenue generating departments in developing effective revenue strategies and setting aggressive goals that will drive the property's financial performance
  • Ensure the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market
  • Research competitor's sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share
  • Facilitate sales strategy meetings to provide and solicit team input weekly
  • Review the STAR report, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel's market position
  • Serve as property authority on sales processes and sales contracts
  • Participate in sales calls with members of the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business
  • Evaluate and support partnership participation and deployment (ie. Virtuoso)
  • Oversee and manage all incoming Group requests and provide leadership in contract negotiations. Ensure proper contract execution.
  • Collaborate with Enchantment Group owners and board of directors as requested.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Leadership Responsibility and Marketing Support

  • Support the implementation of the resorts’ service strategies
  • Support brand initiatives in all aspects of the marketing process which focus on building long-term guest relationships
  • Evaluate each property’s participation in various sales channels and develop strong working relationships to proactively position and market the property
  • Collaborate with the Home Office marketing team to develop an annual marketing plan / budget for both properties
  • Day to day management of the sales and marketing budget to enable development of property specific campaigns, promotions and collateral to drive revenue and meet property objectives
  • Collaborate with the Home Office marketing team on the development of marketing communication activities via social media, email, digital / print advertising
  • Day to day Website content management
  • Suggest innovative marketing ideas and sales strategies for continued growth within market share
  • Develop strong community relations by ensuring property participation in local, regional and national tradeshows and client events
  • Update annual crisis communication plan for both properties
  • Develop and implement hotel-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target guest profile and provide a return on investment to the owner
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
