We are looking for a Director of Communications to join our corporate marketing team. Position Summary

The Director of Communications will join the Enchantment Group Corporate Marketing team and represent all properties with exceptional public relations support and initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with all departments and the company’s public relations firm to achieve specific goals.  
 
Responsibilities 
 

  • Design and execute public relations objectives and strategies to meet company goals including key messages, targeted publicity and promotional campaigns  
  • Serve as a key point of contact and communications liaison for internal and messages that support the company vision and its strategic priorities  
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with local, national and international media in order to generate newsworthy publicity
  • Act as designated company spokesperson with the media
  • Work with an agency to manage social media for all properties, overseeing user content, engagement and the paid and organic strategy
  • Work with influencers, tastemakers and journalists to garner positive media and social exposure
  • Responsible for overseeing the reputation management for the company and its assets to include online reviews on third party platforms
  • Oversee corporate and resort blog content, internal newsletters and other media platforms that drive internal engagement and support our positive culture
  • With the team, support and manage multi-day press trips and/or leisure retreats at resorts that create positive guest experiences and brand awareness
  • Obtain and maintain proficient knowledge of all areas and departments of the resorts
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing to develop, implement and track promotional campaigns and brand initiatives that support property goals
  • Create news releases, leadership messaging, talk points, speeches and presentations aligned with our goals
  • Provide counsel to senior executives for strategic engagement in industry representation, leadership forums, and associate engagement
  • Write/edit compelling and effective press materials to include press releases, positioning statements, backgrounders, pitches and bios
  • Seek, develop and pitch media opportunities
  • Identify and resolve risks and provide timely updates to project teams and leadership
  • Maintain photo, slide, clipping and historical library
  • Coordinate all photo shoots and other media events with respective departments
  • Coach and prepare proper staff for public speaking engagements and provide media training
  • Develop and execute annual public relations plans and supervise the implementation of goals, strategies, tactics and timelines in conjunction with team and agency/partners
  • Meet with editors/writers of appropriate publications for future media opportunities; participate in industry events and media desk sides as necessary
  • Manage and oversee the Public Relations budget  
  • Manage the in-house public relations functions, ensuring excellent quality of work consistent with the image and standards of our resorts
  • Support the goal to position the Enchantment Group brand as the market leader in luxury experiential travel
  • Ensure a thorough Crises Management Plan is readily available to all business units and reviewed annually to ensure all senior leaders are aware 
  • Additional roles and responsibly as it applies to public relations

 

Qualifications

Experience 

  • Bachelors degree marketing, communications or equivalent
  • Hospitality and tourism experience required
  • Five years’ experience with luxury independent resorts, spas and golf strongly preferred
  • Experience in brand management, resort development and real estate and resort level marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Strong compassionate leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team
  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and listening skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
