Art Program Assistant

Salary Range:20.00 To 22.00 (USD) Hourly

 

Job Title:        Art Program Assistant                                   

Department:  Activities (Programming)                               

 

Basic Function: Assist in facilitating art enrichment programs in The Maker Space. Work with the Art Program Manager to guide guests through an artistic, personalized experience at the Tides Inn, providing a high level of guest experience.

Work Performed:

  1. Make guests feel comfortable while guiding them through a creative experience that is intended to leave them feeling energized and inspired. 
  2. Assist with a variety of art classes including, but not limited to – Pottery (wheel throwing and hand building), jewelry making, soap making, and painting. 
  3. Teach participants in varying skill levels: beginner, intermediate to advanced levels. 
  4. Operate and fire kiln to complete the pottery process. 
  5. Responsible for ensuring the Maker Space and tools are cleaned properly after each class and put away properly including cleaning the sinks and mopping the floors. 
  6. Maintain cleanliness and condition of all activity’s equipment. 
  7. Utilize appropriate systems for maintenance requests and assistance with repairs. 
  8. Executes Forbes Standards for guest interaction and departmental standards. 
  9. Any other projects as assigned by the Director of Programming. 

 

Supervision Received:  Art Program Manager; Director of Programming 

Responsibility & Authority:

1.  Ability to deal effectively with all departments, regular communication with the Director of Rooms, Guest Services Manager, and other staff and management.

2.  Ability to maintain a high level of guest experience. 

  1. Knowledge about each department to include Concierge, Bayside Explorers Cruises, Marina, Golf, F&B and surrounding activities that are offered from the local area.
  2. Role model to all staff in guests’ services on policies and procedures and conduct.
  3. Ability to organize and implement programs.
  4. Available for on-call basis reflecting upon occupancy and availability of tasks and work flexible hours. 
  5. Ability to complete projects without direct supervision. 
  6. Strong public relations, phone skills and organization.
  7. Must observe safety and respect for company and guest property and equipment. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

 

Physical Requirements:

70% Walking & Standing

20% Lifting & Carrying 15 - 30 pounds

10% Sitting

Hearing and Manual Dexterity
