Basic Function: Assist with preparation of breads and pastries, including preparing dough and filling, proofing, baking and decorating as appropriate.

Work Performed:

  1. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards and food prep checklists
  2. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
  3. Safely and appropriately use baking an measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods
  4. Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures including personal hygiene procedures
  5. Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food and report issues to management
  6. Wash and disinfect kitchen area
  7. Set up and break down work station
  8. Follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures
  9. Monitor quality of food prepared and portions served throughout shift
  10. Follow all company policies and procedures
  11. Maintain safety training and certifications
  12. Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional
  13. Communicate using clear and professional language and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  14. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team to reach common goals.
  15. Maintains overall cleanliness of pastry shop storage and refrigeration areas and sees to rotation of bakeshop items
  16. Act as an ambassador of Enchantment by speaking positively of the Resort at all times
  17. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years minimum kitchen experience necessary. Prefer some culinary school courses specifically in pastry. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task many priorities. Self motivated, ability to work with little supervision and organized. Must be dependable. Must be comfortable communicating with staff with Basic English. Must maintain current food handler’s certification.
